Engagement • Dustin & Kate • Revolution Brewing Company • Chicago
Dustin and I have at least two things in common: we both LOVE photography and we both HATE being photographed, so I took this one as a challenge. Dustin and Kate met in a bar and wanted to do their pre wedding shoot at a bar in Wheaton. I just photographed a wedding at Revolution Brewing Company and noticed that the bar had a perfect blend of window light at about 5:15pm, so I suggested we do the shoot at said location. The owners even let me behind the bar for a few shots. I brought my wife along to distract Dustin and Kate in conversation to get the non posed and natural approach they were looking for. We also had fun doing a few rainy day shots outside of Revolution.

Wedding • Amanda & Mike • Ravisloe • Chicago
I've known Amanda for years now from the Chicago music scene. She's an amazing drummer. When she asked me if I'd be interested in photographing her wedding, she hyped up the venue as "a country club, but a really cool and interesting one". I would have been on board even if it was at an Arby's, but it turns out she was right about Ravisloe. It's an old venue off of the Dixie Highway in Homewood, IL. with a Hacienda design. A little taste of Mexico in our own backyard.
Wedding • Erin & Andy • The Kenilworth Club • Kenilworth, Il.
The Kenilworth Club is a masterpiece of Prairie Style Architecture in the Northern Chicago Suburbs. Erin and Andy were a great couple with lovely family and friends. My wife and I really enjoyed being a part of this wonderful event. The last photos are black and white Polaroids taken in an impromptu "Photo Booth" styled portrait session while Beep Media DJ John Londay rocked the house.
Wedding • Amanda & Shawn • The Marvel Davis Farm • Big Rock, IL.
I loved working this wedding over the 4th of July weekend. The ceremony was in the small town of Hinkley, IL. and the reception was at an amazing historic farm in Big Rock. Amanda and Shawn are both from farming families and all of the food served was home raised. I also loved the overall design of this wedding. Everything tastefully matched, from the flowers to the cake to the attire of the bridal party.
Wedding • Jena & Jason • Chicago's Little Lady Boat • Chicago
I had a blast getting to know Jena and Jason as I photographed this fun wedding a few weeks ago. We hung out at the Hyatt Regency, then walked around Wacker Drive for some portraits before heading down the street to board a boat. I loved photographing this ceremony on the Chicago River at about fifteen minutes past sunset with just a hint of remaining sunlight left. I spent most of the evening after the ceremony shooting the guests with my Polaroid 195 land camera and we displayed them as they were taken for the guests to enjoy.
Wedding • Sarah & Cory • Oak Hill Farm • Galena, Il.
Wow. I loved this wedding. Oak Hill Farm is out in the middle of nowhere (well, about 45 minutes away from Galena, IL.) and it was one of my favorite venues I've shot. It was great to work with Sarah and Cory, beautiful couple, perfect light, spring peaking, all in an amazing location.
