I was recently hired by the University of Iowa's Center for the Book to capture various activities at UICB for print and web. It's my honor to work for such an amazing group of people.
Asao Shimura is a hand paper maker and shifu expert who recently taught a workshop at the University of Iowa Center for the Book. At the end of the workshop Asao treated the attendees to kami nabe, a method of cooking vegetables and fish in a handmade paper bowl over a small charcoal grill. More photos can be seen here.
