I’ll be giving a talk about my book Between Gravity and What Cheer: Iowa Photographs at the University of Iowa Visual Arts Building on Tuesday, January 22 at 5:30pm in lecture hall 125. This talk is open to the public and free of charge. This lecture is conjunction with studio visits with U of I photography majors with Professor of Photography Rachel Cox. Barry Phipps will present a 40 minute slideshow-based lecture on the making of his new book Between Gravity and What Cheer: Iowa Photographs at the Madison Public Library on Friday, September 7 from 7-8pm.
Presented in partnership with FlakPhoto, Barry Phipps joins us to talk about his new book of Midwestern photographs. Phipps' work will be on display in the James Watrous Gallery as part of the New Midwest Photography exhibition.
